Description

🦈 Feras TLCs: Megalodon

Giving ARK’s most iconic ocean predator the TLC it deserves.

Feras TLCs: Megalodon rebuilds the vanilla Megalodon with a completely new model, new animations, a redesigned saddle and an expanded combat kit.

The TLC preserves the Megalodon’s role as a strong midgame pack fighter while rewarding aggressive hunting and consecutive kills.

🎨 The TLC

The Megalodon features a completely new mesh, new animations, a custom saddle, expanded combat abilities and improved wild AI while retaining its familiar pack-fighter role.

🩸 Abilities

Bloodthirst

Killing creatures grants stacks of Bloodthirst, with stronger prey awarding additional stacks.

Each stack provides 1.75% increased damage and 0.8 Health regeneration per second. Bloodthirst can stack up to 100 times, providing a maximum of 175% increased damage and 80 Health regeneration per second.

Feeding Frenzy

After securing a kill, the Megalodon temporarily gains increased movement speed and stun immunity. Additional kills refresh the frenzy and allow it to continue hunting.

Serrated Wounds

The Megalodon’s regular bite inflicts Serrated Wounds, reducing the target’s incoming healing. This replaces the vanilla Gnashed effect.

Blood Detection

Megalodons can detect and highlight nearby creatures at or below 50% Health.

Call for Aid

Megalodons can call nearby wild Megalodons into the fight.

Wild Megalodons can also trigger Feeding Frenzy, Bloodthirst and the associated combat effects.

Gang Boost

The familiar vanilla Megalodon Gang Boost remains unchanged, allowing groups of Megalodons to become increasingly dangerous.

🧠 Improved Wild AI

Wild Megalodons use a reworked AI Controller with greatly reduced detection and aggro notification ranges.

They should no longer detect players from excessive distances or alert half the ocean whenever a fight begins.

🌍 Spawning

The mod replaces the vanilla Megalodon and includes matching Alpha and Genesis Ocean variants. Alpha Megalodons remain untameable.

Genesis Ocean Megalodons currently only receive the new TLC mesh. Their abilities remain identical to the vanilla Megalodon.

🐾 Taming

The TLC Megalodon remains a standard vanilla KO tame and uses the same taming foods and progression as the original creature.

🛠 Saddle

The Megalodon uses a completely redesigned custom saddle. Newly crafted or looted Megalodon saddles are automatically replaced with the TLC saddle.

🔧 Planned Features

Future updates are planned to add the Big Meg variant with its own combat identity, a custom TEK Saddle, additional balancing and further polish.
