Description
DLC Remover
Removes DLC add-ons such as travel discounts, Ragnarok, Magitek Exosuits, etc...
This mod flips a flag inside the DLC item table that is responsible for deleting DLC content you don’t own.
There are three versions included:
- DLC Remover - Full Version: Enables all DLC‑removal behavior for the items listed below)
- DLC Remover - Full Version (Refined): Triggers the removal of many of the DLC items, but excludes Royal Pack and many of the Regalia Skins / Music options, and Episode DLC items
- DLC Remover - Holiday & Booster Packs: Removes the Holiday Pack and Booster Pack (both free and + versions) as well as the Travel Pack
Square Enix coded the Royal Pack to delete many items if a save is loaded without actually owning the Royal Pack, but they did not add back a way to auto-bestow those items once the Royal Pack was repurchased back on to that same save. Because of this, two "Restore" options were also added. Please note, these will auto-bestow all items regardless of if they were already obtained.
- DLC Remover - Royal Restore: (Included in mod pack) Restores Royal Pack items the game deletes when you save without the Royal Pack, as the game never set to restore those items on its own.
- DLC Remover - Restore All: (Only in the "Files" tab) Adds back all the flags for all DLC items to ensure any lost DLC item is restored. This should never be needed, but is here for safety or debugging

It is possible this list isnt fully inclusive of all items that get disabled, I was relying on wiki entries / old PS store descriptions, which weren't always the most technical.
---FAQ----
What does this mod actually do, I've read the description and still don't understand?
- Think of it as the opposite of my other mod Lost Treasures - https://www.curseforge.com/final-fantasy-xv/mods/lost-treasures
- As opposed to granting addition pre-order DLC bonuses and other items that were never obtainable on the PC version of the game, this mod removes Pre-order DLC bonuses that PC players automatically have bestowed on every new game they make.
- Why? ... Good question, most of these seem pretty harmless, and the ones that are OP can *generally* just not be used, some of the Add-ons that on console, required intentionally purchasing, pre-ordering, or downloading to get and install fundamentally changed the balance of the game and made base game items nearly worthless. In particular, the there DLC items that many people found ruined their experience were:
1) Travel / Gas discounts - automatically getting 50% off all of these purchases, especially the intentionally expensive Altissia / Galdin Quay hotels further trivialized how easy money was to earn in the game.
2) Ragnarok - Was seen as far better than most other swords, especially early game with its powerful unique warp strike ability that trivialized many of the fights, and meant that new weapons you earn early game would just never be used, and instead encouraged to warp strike spam during tricky battles.
3) Magitek Suits - Grants invincibility for an hour every day, like Ragnarock, this item was seen as OP, unneeded, and trivialized the game's few harder battles it has. - Of course you could just *not* use the weapon and the outfit, though you could not opt to pay more for travel or gas.
Regardless, this has been a reoccurring common request, even on my mod that aims to restore a version of the game closer to the original day 1 release of the game, many users requested a version of that mod that only makes these changes.
This mod was made because of the frequency of the requests for a mod that does this, and because I had found Square's own system for how it managed, auto-bestowed, and auto-removed items for these DLCs into any save that is loaded.
--------------Important Note -----------------
If something essential disappears, check the alternative versions or report it in the mod’s comment section. However you should be able to restore those items using
- DLC Remover - Royal Restore: (Included in mod pack) Restores Royal Pack items the game deletes when you save without the Royal Pack, as the game never set to restore those items on its own.
- DLC Remover - Restore All: (Only in the "Files" tab) Adds back all the flags for all DLC items to ensure any lost DLC item is restored. This should never be needed, but is here for safety or debugging
Please note, these will auto-bestow all items regardless of if they were already obtained.
