Description

The latest Expanded Area VFX update brings tons of additions to Final Fantasy XV, including an entirely new weather, further increasing the amount of VFX you see while you are out there in the world. This time, dungeons received special treatment.

All effects were taken straight from the files and DLCs and reused to highlight the game's beautiful environments. Several VFX from the previous version were also improved and expanded to more areas.

Patch

- Fixed a bug that caused Ifrit's effects to display incorrectly on the intro sequence. Big thanks to Hen_siL for reporting the issue and to Rinual for fixing it.

- Tweaked lightning frequency during thunderstorms.

Highlights

Cataclysm

Ravathog was once the battlefield where Bahamut and Ifrit waged a violent fight in the distant past. Now, the lingering echoes of their clash can be seen on the environment itself, as burning ashes, gusts of wind and energy sparks circle the peak of the volcano.

Dungeons

The indoors areas of FFXV were updated with increased VFX on Fociaugh, Balouve, Daurell, Glacial Grotto, Myrlwood and Costlemark, each matching their respective atmosphere.

Weather Warning

Thunderstorms can now actively trigger in the overworld of Lucis, making it the fourth weather variation. They have a low to moderate chance to appear while exploring the Duscae and Cleigne regions, so keep an eye out for them and don't miss the spectacle!

EPD's effect restored

Magitek Ships would blow up dust when approaching the ground in Episode Duscae, something that was later removed in the final version. Fortunately, this effect could be fully restored, making the landings even more cinematic.
