Rinual's World Map

This is a no upscale 16k resolution world map. The game's mini-map tiles are 1k squares, giving a much more detailed close up of the environment than the world map. This mod utilizes those tiles, downscaling them to fit the maximum resolution the game will handle and redraws all map attributes missing from the mini-map such as names and roads. This changes both the regular and masked versions of the world map allowing for the maximum resolution version of both versions of the world map. The mod also features a new compass rose to replace the generic one that launches with the game.
16,384 x 10,012 - Maximum map resolution the game / engine will handle. All roads, trails and paths have been redrawn by hand.
Update 06/22/2026 --- Some users experienced stutters when zoomed in with full resolution
Three alternate size options of the main mod available in the files tab
Note By removing Fog of War by half, the mod will be smaller in size than the regular map options. This is also more performance-friendly than the standard version of the mod. Weaker PCs will run the (No Fog) variant more easily now, as only one image will be replaced.

Fully uncompressed, the map would be closer to 35k
I've also replaced the map to Altissia, though the effects will be less noticeable.

Alternate versions listed in the optional files tab.
- Lucis + Altissia (Default Download)
- Lucis + Altissia w/o Fog of War
- Lucis + Altissia + Niflheim
- Lucis + Altissia + Niflheim w/o Fog of War
- Manual Installation - (No Flagrum / Compatibility version)

Niflheim map replacement is being kept as optional as its just a huge file / extra file size for very little difference in game. The changes from the main map to the mini-map are just too unimportant to justify packing in an extra 400mbs of map files.
**File Size Warning!!**

*Update* there have been two reports of users where Flagrum is not properly applying changes to the map, however the manual installation version of this mod will work fine if you encounter the same issue. This is seems to be very rare however, and not something I can address / fix on my end beyond offering the manual version. This should be fixed with Flagrum update 1.5.17
