The First King of The Skies: Skrythe

Our flagship monster is currently roaming the Plains of Zone 1. Skrythe is built entirely differently from standard Hytale mobs and features a true monster hunting experience:

A New Kind of Combat: Skrythe boasts over 20 dynamic, positional combat moves across grounded and flight states. Monsters don't turn abruptly mid-attack or use cheap homing projectiles. The encounter is entirely skill-based, if you take the time to learn its specific, telegraphed animations, you can smoothly dodge everything it throws at you.

Enraged State: Push the monster far enough and it will become Enraged, dynamically altering its attack patterns, upgrading existing moves, and unlocking devastating new abilities.

A Living World: Skrythe isn't just a boss arena fight. These creatures have out-of-combat behaviors like migration. You might spot one flying through the clouds while you're building, or have one seamlessly crash your fight with another mob.

The Spoils of the Hunt (Custom Gear)

Defeating Skrythe allows you to craft some of the most mechanically advanced equipment in the game:

Skrythe Armor Set: A powerful set of armor that introduces custom, tiered set bonuses the more pieces you wear.

Horn of The Shattercry: A heavy melee weapon with a highly unique secondary "performance mode." Play actual music mid-combat to trigger powerful buffs and debuffs for you and your allies.

To switch to performance mode one simple needs to hold right click. Guard is replaced by it, however you can still block blows with the performance mode. This, however will immediately break the performance mode and go on a cooldown.

To play notes, left click while holding your directional inputs. Each direction corresponds to different notes with different uses:

FORWARD: Self health regen buff.

LEFT: Self stamina regen buff.

RIGHT: AOE Slow debuff.

BACK: AOE Stun debuff.

Signature: Summons an echo bubble, giving speed, health and stamina regen to players. Inflicting slowness, weakness and damage over time towards enemies.

Recommended Gear

Because this fight relies heavily on positioning and dodging, you are totally free to challenge Skrythe using whatever weapons and playstyle you wish. For your very first hunt, it is recommended to face it using Thorium gear. However if you want to make it easy and deathless, use Adamanite gear. The choice is all yours.

What's Next?

This first release establishes the foundation of our combat and AI systems. Moving forward, we will be working hard to port over more massive creatures, weapons, and features. However it will be quite tricky to advance both mods at once so updates might be a long wait.
