NEW

The pet system has been improved for multiplayer: when the owner dies, the pet now correctly reattaches and teleports back to its owner regardless of how many players are online, preventing target switching to the nearest player. Initial follow stability has also been improved. Important: please manually despawn your pet before disconnecting, as the game engine does not fully handle the owner state while offline.

Version 1.0.2

- Fixed pet following when digging straight down (“digging down on yourself”). Pets now descend properly with you and no longer get stuck above or behave erratically.

- Fixed Spark Speed’s movement speed, which was broken in the previous update.

New hunger particles: pets now display a coal x2 cloud when they spawn and when their light buff expires, indicating that they need to be fed.

NEW

In this patch, a new mechanic has been introduced with the Merchant’s Energy Pouch, a special item that, when kept in your inventory, doubles the duration of each charcoal charge applied to pets, increasing it from 2 minutes without the pouch to 4 minutes with it, while also providing 9 additional storage slots that can be used freely; pet audio has been adjusted to reduce the probability of loud or intense sounds, resulting in more balanced and less repetitive behavior, and the pet teleport follow system has been improved so that pets no longer teleport immediately when digging straight down, but will correctly teleport when moving horizontally inside caves if they lose tracking.

KNOWN LIMITATION: Pets can get lost if you use mounts. SOLUTION: Store your pet (interact without coal) before mounting and release it again when you dismount. FIXED: Teleports now work at long distances without issues. If you dig downward, the pet will teleport behind you as soon as you dig slightly forward.

New mechanic added (old)

Each pet feeds on charcoal to charge its energy.

Hold 3 charcoal in your hand and press F.

When fed, it plays a sound and an animation, glows brighter and its particles change color, showing that it’s energized. During this time, it follows you as usual and emits more light for 3 minutes.

While energized, it can’t eat more charcoal.

Once the energy runs out, a shutdown sound and animation play, the particles return to their original color, the light fades, and it can be fed again.

If you try to feed it while it’s already charged, no additional charcoal will be consumed.

- Teleports at long to medium distance fixed; if the world takes too long to load, they are not infallible.

- Add new simon pet

- Add new spark white silence pet

- The sound has been adjusted and now the pets go into the water (although they can't swim well they always stay at the bottom)

- Kira the cat, belonging to YouTuber Vegetta777, has been added as a new floating pet.

- Added glow to the White Wolf pet egg.

- Added a new Fast Spark pet, inspired by Flash, designed to follow the player at very high speed, even when using fast boots mods.

- Slightly adjusted the speed of normal Spark pets so they are less likely to fall behind.

- Added multilingual support.

- This version will remain available for players who prefer crafting pets.

- They no longer spin around you, which could cause discomfort when mining blocks.

- Added spacing between pets to improve handling when carrying multiple at the same time. While not perfect, it represents a clear improvement.

- Pets can no longer be crafted at a crafting table.

- The health of all merchants has been increased from 63 to 200, making them more durable.

- Merchants now sell a new item: Pet Merchant Contract. This contract allows you to summon a static merchant in your home, from whom you can buy pets.

- If you want to change the merchant’s location, you can kill it, and it will drop the contract again, allowing you to summon it wherever you want.

- A new drop has been added to wandering merchants roaming the world: They will now drop 2 Life Essences when defeated.

- The rarity colors of some items have been updated, and their spawn probability has been adjusted so they appear more frequently.

Se ha mejorado el sistema de mascotas en multijugador: ahora, cuando el jugador muere, la mascota se reengancha correctamente y se teletransporta a su dueño sin importar cuántos jugadores haya conectados, evitando cambios de objetivo al jugador más cercano. Versión 1.0.2

- Arreglado el seguimiento de las mascotas cuando excavas hacia abajo sobre ti mismo (lo que sería un “para abajo”). Ahora bajan correctamente contigo y no se quedan arriba ni hacen movimientos raros.

- Arreglada la velocidad del Spark Veloz, que se había roto en la actualización anterior.

Nuevas partículas de hambre: ahora las mascotas muestran un bocadillo de pensamiento con carbón x2 al aparecer y cuando se les acaba el buff de luz, indicando que necesitan ser alimentadas.

En este parche se ha añadido una nueva mecánica con la Mochila Energética del Mercader, un objeto especial que, al llevarlo en el inventario, duplica la duración de cada carga de carbón aplicada a las mascotas, pasando de 2 minutos sin mochila a 4 minutos con ella, además de proporcionar 9 espacios adicionales de almacenamiento que pueden utilizarse libremente; también se ha ajustado el sistema de audio de las mascotas reduciendo la probabilidad de que emitan gritos o sonidos intensos para lograr un comportamiento más equilibrado y menos repetitivo, y se ha mejorado el sistema de teletransporte de seguimiento, de modo que al cavar hacia abajo las mascotas ya no se teletransportan inmediatamente, pero al avanzar en horizontal dentro de cuevas sí lo harán correctamente si pierden el seguimiento.

LIMITACIÓN CONOCIDA: Las mascotas pueden perderse si usas monturas. SOLUCIÓN: Guarda tu mascota (interactúa sin carbón) antes de montar y vuelve a soltarla cuando desmontes. ARREGLADO: Los teleports ahora funcionan a grandes distancias sin problema. Si picas hacia abajo, en cuanto piques un poco hacia delante la mascota se teletransportará detrás tuyo.

Nueva mecánica añadida (ANTIGUA)

Cada mascota se alimenta con carbón para cargarse de energía.

Dale 3 de carbón en la mano y pulsa F.

Al alimentarla, emite un sonido y realiza una animación, se ilumina con más intensidad y sus partículas cambian de color, indicando que está cargada. Durante este tiempo te seguirá como siempre y emitirá más luz durante 3 minutos.

Mientras está cargada no puede comer más carbón.

Cuando la energía se agota, se reproduce un sonido y una animación de apagado, las partículas recuperan su color original, la luz vuelve a la normalidad y puedes volver a alimentarla.

Si intentas darle carbón cuando ya está cargada, no se consumirá más carbón.

- Teletransportes a media y larga distancia corregidos; si el mundo tarda demasiado en cargarse, no son infalibles.

- Añadida mascota Simon

- Añadido nueva chispa de mascota blanca silenciosa

- Ajustado el sonido y ahora las mascotas se meten dentro del agua (aunque no saben nadar bien siempre van por el fondo)

- Se ha añadido la gata Kira del youtuber Vegetta777, disponible como nueva mascota flotante.

Spark Lantern Pet adds a living, floating lantern that follows the player during their adventures, lighting up the surroundings and adding extra atmosphere to the world. It is neither a weapon nor a combat companion: it’s a light source designed for exploration and comfort.

A light that follows you

The lantern floats close to the player and follows them naturally as they move through the world. It provides constant light, strong enough for caves and mines, but balanced so it doesn’t break the survival experience. Its behaviour is designed to feel organic and stable.

Sound and atmosphere

The lantern is not silent. While active, it emits a soft ambient sound, similar to a lantern or a small flame. It also plays sounds when appearing and disappearing, and can occasionally emit a small random squeak that reinforces the feeling that it is a living creature rather than a simple floating object.

Three different styles

The mod includes three visual variants to choose from, depending on your style:

All of them work exactly the same; only the colour and appearance change.

How to craft it

The lantern is obtained through crafting at the Furniture Workbench, under the Miscellaneous category (the same place where the plush kweebec is found).

Each colour has its own recipe.
Once the lantern egg is crafted, it is ready to use.

Using the lantern is very simple:

- Use the egg to summon the floating lantern.

- The lantern will automatically follow you and light the way.

- When you no longer need it, interact with it to collect it and recover the egg.

It is not lost or consumed: you can summon and store it as many times as you like.

Multiplayer – Tips & Recommendations

This mod works in multiplayer, but there are a few things to keep in mind. Due to limitations of the game engine, the lantern cannot be permanently bound to a single player, so in certain situations it may react to nearby players instead of only its owner.

For a smoother experience, it is recommended that:

- Each player uses their own lantern.

- You avoid spawning many lanterns close together.

- Lanterns are picked up when not needed.

Following these recommendations helps ensure more stable and predictable behaviour in multiplayer sessions.

Technical limitations

Spark Lantern Pet is designed with stability as a priority. It does not include temporary buffs, automatic transformations, or complex systems for now. Sounds are tied to in-game animations, which imposes certain limitations but ensures compatibility and good performance.
