This mod, directed by Lord0wnage and made by the creator of the Midnight Lurker, takes some of the more popular horror mod entities and combines them all into one horrifying abomination

If you find the music/jumpscare sounds to be too loud, you can turn them down; they are a part of the "Jukebox/Note Block" sound option in the options menu.

Items

Vile Flesh:
This item drops from the Hybrid and is used for crafting.

Vile Bone:
This item drops from the Hybrid and is used for crafting.

Vile Mirror:
When you use this item, it will teleport you to your spawnpoint.

Vile Blade:
This item is similar to the other swords in the game but has a chance to strike lightning when hitting a mob, and if the mob's health is above 40, then the lightning will deal 1/3 of their current health.

Crimson Campfire:
This is a placeable item, and when on the ground and lit, will give nearby players regeneration.

Crimson Flame:
This item can place "Crimson Fire" on the ground and will turn into an empty bottle when the fire is placed.

How The Hybrid and Fear System Works

The Hybrid:

The Hybrid has multiple different things he can do after spawning:
1: He can act like the Man from the Fog and watch you from the distance, and if looked at, will either chase you or disappear.

2: He can stalk the player slowly by following them at a moderate distance away from the player and, when looked at, will keep watching the player or cower and disappear.
3: He can once again stalk the player by following them, but this time from afar, and if seen, will disappear or chase the player.
4: He can move towards the player when they can't see the Hybrid and when he gets close enough or is looked at, he will either disappear or chase the player.
5: He will watch you from a distance, sort of acting like the Man from the Fog, but if you look at him, he will teleport near you, and if looked at while near the player, will either disappear or chase the player.

The Hybrid has a higher chance of disappearing when looked at than chasing the player.

If the Hybrid isn't interacted with for long enough, he will either disappear, become angry and chase the player nearest to him, or change his "AI" to do one of the other things on the list.

If the Hybrid encounters an entity stronger than himself, he will deal his full amount of damage instead of dealing only a quarter of his actual damage like he does with the player.

The Hybrid can find you above ground and underground.

When killed, the Hybrid will drop pieces of himself that you can craft into powerful items.

The Hybrid can grab you by random if he hits you and can insta-kill you if you do not have a shield prepared or put you back down if he doesn't feel it is time for you to die yet.

When near the Hybrid your Fear will rapidly increase.

Fear System:

The Fear System is meant to keep players on their toes and always observe around them if their fear meter is above at least 2 bars. This is because sounds that play or other occurances might be because the Hybrid is around or could just happen to make you think he is nearby when he isn't.

Fear determines different things that happen at a time within the mod
Like if and when the player can have a "panic attack", and when the player will hear random noises or maybe even get jumpscared.

Fear will go up overtime if the player is out at night or in a dark cave without being near a light source or holding one.
Fear will also passively go up while playing but very slowly.

Fear will go down overtime if the player is at a block with a light level of 15 or higher or if the player is outside during the day.
Fear can also go down when the player eats certain foods, fishes, or sleeps.
Eating fruits, vegetables, and bread when hungry will reduce the players fear by small increments.
Fishing will reduce the players fear by a larger amount than eating, but still not a too big amount, so you can't reduce fear stages instantly.
Sleeping will reduce the most Fear, sleeping two or three times will reduce your fear by an entire stage.

Config Settings and how to use the the Config

To use the config, you have to go into your Minecraft game directory, then go into the "config" folder and it should be there. You can edit the config with Notepad, Notepad++, or any code editor you may have installed.

Or type /hybrid_vx:Config in chat in game to open an ingame config menu.

Config Settings:

1: hybrid_spawntime_min A random number is generated between min and max for the spawn time. The spawn numbers are in seconds, so set how many seconds you want it to take for the hybrid to spawn on min and max.

2: hybrid_spawntime_max A random number is generated between min and max for the spawn time. The spawn numbers are in seconds, so set how many seconds you want it to take for the hybrid to spawn on min and max.

3: can_have_panic_attacks If set to true, then the player will be able to have "panic attacks". If set to false, then the player will not be able to have "panic attacks".

4: hallucination_jumpscare If set to true, then a jumpscare has a chance of playing when disturbing the "hallucinations." If set to false, then a jumpscare will not have a chance of playing.

5: hybrid_spawn_chance A random number is generated between 0 and the number that you can set for the spawn chance; if the number is equal to 1, then the hybrid will spawn. If you want a higher chance of the hybrid spawning, set the spawn chance to a lower number; if you want a lower chance for the hybrid to spawn, set the spawn chance to a higher number.

6: hybrid_chase_music If set to true, then music will play when the hybrid is chasing you. If set to false, then music will not play when the hybrid is chasing you.

7: hybrid_mftf_ai_spawn_sound If set to true, then the Man from the Fog spawning sounds will play when he spawns in with AI similar to the Man; if set to false, then this spawning sound will not play.
