Description
The Colosseum
‘Colosseum’ is a custom game mode in which players battle it out in a closed arena over three consecutive rounds.
Each round has its own rules, weapons and combat conditions. As the match progresses, the battles become increasingly challenging — ranging from close-quarters combat with machetes to battles in conditions of almost total darkness.
The aim is to get through each round and gain the upper hand over your opponents throughout the match.
How the match is going
The match consists of three consecutive rounds. Players appear inside the Colosseum and cannot leave the arena.
Each round features a pre-determined set of available weapons, additional items and special gameplay conditions.
The safe zone is also configured for this match and gradually shrinks as the round progresses, forcing players to move around the arena and engage in combat.
Important: A player’s elimination does not result in the round ending immediately. The round continues for its set duration, so the remaining players must continue fighting until the end of the round.
Round 1 — Machete
The first round is entirely devoted to close-quarters combat.
Players start the round with a machete and must use the arena’s features to find cover and secure advantageous positions.
Frying pans also appear in two different locations inside the Colosseum. They are available during the round and can be used as additional weapons.
Movement, positioning and close-quarters combat skills are key to survival in this round.
Round 2 — Crossbows
Long-range combat is introduced in the second round.
Crossbows become the primary weapon, whilst machetes remain available for close combat.
Arrows are placed at specific locations around the arena. Players must move around the Colosseum and find ammunition to continue using their crossbows.
In this round, accuracy is only part of the challenge; controlling access to ammunition and choosing the right position are just as important.
Round 3 — Dragunovs
The final round completely changes the terms of the battle.
Heavy snowfall blanketed the entire arena, reducing visibility to just a few metres.
Dragunov rifles become the primary weapon. Players are provided with a thermal sight to help them navigate the arena and spot enemies in conditions of extremely limited visibility.
When it starts snowing, the background music stops, creating a completely different atmosphere for the final round.
In these conditions, simply spotting the enemy is no longer enough. Players need to keep a close eye on their surroundings, make effective use of the thermal imager and adapt to extremely limited visibility.
