This mod adds four new Romance Styles to Lovestruck, with two more planned for future release. The Romance Styles are PDA, Quality Time, Mischievous, and Compersive.

1. PDA (Public Displays of Affection) 🧑‍🤝‍🧑

Turn-On: Sims gain Romantic Satisfaction from Romance interactions in public spaces.
Turn-Off: Sims lose Romantic Satisfaction from Romance interactions in public spaces.

What counts as "public"?

A space is considered public if any of the following are true:

The lot is a non-residential venue (bars, parks, gyms, etc.) that neither Sim owns
The Sim is in an apartment common area (lobby, hallway)
The Sim is off-lot (open streets, neighborhood)

Residential lots, apartments, penthouses, and rented vacation homes are treated as private spaces.

2. Quality Time 🎳

Turn-On: Sims gain Romantic Satisfaction from doing activities with their partner.
Turn-Off: Sims lose Romantic Satisfaction from doing activities with their partner.

How it works

In an unmodded game, Sims gain Romantic Satisfaction from romantic interactions even if they do not have the matching Turn-On. A Turn-On simply boosts the gain. A Turn-Off, meanwhile, reverses the effect by blocking the gain and applying a loss instead. This Romance Style follows the same logic.

When Sims perform certain activities together, or near one another, they gain Romantic Satisfaction at set intervals.

The longer Sims spend doing an activity together, the greater the potential gain or loss. The following activities are currently supported:

Arcade Machine (Get Together)
Basketball (City Living)
Beach Activities (Building sand sculptures, sunbathing, beachcombing)
Bowling (Bowling Night Stuff)
Bubble Blower (City Living)
Chess
Dancing (All types from every pack)
Darts (Get Together)
Exercising (gym machines, treadmills, free weights, boxing/bags, stationary bikes, climbing wall challenges, stretching/push-ups/sit-ups)
Exercise Classes (Yoga, Guided Meditations, Spin Classes, Weightlifting Classes)
Fishing (Regular and Bowfishing)
Foosball (Get Together)
Football (High School Years)
Gardening (All types)
Homework (All types for High School and University students)
Hopscotch (For Rent)
Horse Shoes (Outdoor Living)
Karaoke (City Living)
Live Entertainment (watching live music, performances, fireworks, special events, street performers, and going to the movie theater)
Park Fountain (Romantic Garden Stuff)
Ping Pong / Juice Pong (Discover University)
Recreation Table Activities (Growing Together)
Slip 'N Slide (Backyard Stuff)
Soccer (Discover University)
Stargazing / Cloudgazing (Base game and Lovestruck variants)
Swing Set (Seasons)
Table Games (Cards, Don’t Wake the Llama, Thumbs-Up!, Woo-Who!?)
Video Games (Either playing multiplayer or simply watching)
Watching TV (All TV channels + movies from Movie Hangout Stuff)

If there are any activities you feel should be included in a future update, let me know!

3. Mischievous 😈

Turn-On: Sims gain Romantic Satisfaction from Mischief interactions, and from initiating Mean interactions with their partner.
Turn-Off: Sims lose Romantic Satisfaction from these interactions.

How it works for Mean interactions

For Mischief interactions, this Romance Style functions the same as the EA ones. But for Mean interactions, it is a bit more nuanced:

Default behavior: mean interactions lower Romantic Satisfaction.
Initiator → Recipient: if the Initiator has Mischievous Turn-Off, they lose more; if they have Mischievous Turn-On, they gain instead. Traits like Good reduces the impact of gains if the Recipient has a Mischievous Turn-Off.
Recipient → Initiator: if the Recipient has Mischievous Turn-Off, they lose more. Traits like Low Self-Esteem and Embarrassed moods reduces the impact of losses on the Recipient’s side.

4. Compersive 🥰

Compersive Sims enjoy seeing their partner be romantic with others and find it satisfying when their partner watches them be romantic with someone else.

Turn-On: Sims with this Turn-On gain Romantic Satisfaction when they witness their partner being romantic with others, or when they are romantic with others while their partner watches.
Turn-Off: With the Turn-Off, Sims lose Romantic Satisfaction when they are romantic with others while their partner watches.
- Sims with the Turn-Off only lose Romantic Satisfaction from witnessing their partner being romantic with others if they have certain Personality Traits, like Jealous.

How it works

When a romantic interaction occurs, the game checks whether either Sim has a nearby partner with open romantic boundaries. If so, the Sims in the relationship may gain or lose Relationship Satisfaction based on their preferences.

A Sim being watched will never gain Romantic Satisfaction from an interaction they don’t like. Example: if a Sim has a Flirting Turn-Off and someone who isn’t their partner flirts with them, they won’t gain Romantic Satisfaction with their watching partner.
Watching Sims also gain a bonus if they have a Turn-On that matches the interaction type: Physical Intimacy, Flirting, Affection, or WooHoo.
Sims will occasionally react to being watched by their partner, or to watching their partner.
