Description
Field Journal is an RP-focused addon that keeps a personal record of your character’s travels.
The journal grows as you play. Zones are added as your character explores them, with discovered subregions and local notes recorded along the way. Each zone tracks the creatures your character has encountered there.
Creatures are organized into journal "subjects" with their own knowledge progression. Killing enemies and successfully observing them can unlock new lore entries over time, allowing your "character’s" understanding of the world to build naturally through play. Known mobs are recorded with kill counts and the places where they have been encountered.
It also includes an active observation system. When targeting a mob, you can perform a field study using a short timed interaction, similar to fishing. Successful observations contribute to that subject’s knowledge and give your character another way to learn besides combat.
Completed quests become personal adventure entries. Quests are recorded with the character’s level, completion time, location, quest giver, and a short first-person account written to read like part of an adventurer’s journal.
The Chronicle records major moments in your character’s life. Level-ups are saved with the date, time, zone, local area, and relevant activity from that part of the journey. The writing will change as the character grows, so early levels feel different from the experiences of a seasoned adventurer.
This addon records near-death encounters. If your character falls to 10% health or lower during combat and survives, the journal remembers where it happened, what creature nearly killed you, and how close the fight became. These moments are given RP-flavored entries so dangerous encounters become part of the character’s history.
